The Santana 30-30, Crimson Star, is using a 36Vdc system to get out to the starting line. With it, she can cruise at 5 to 5.5 knots for over 2 hours, she can cruise around the marina all afternoon at 4 knots, or all day at 3.
Crimson Star is in regular use and being actively raced out of Marina del Rey in the Los Angeles area. An Electric Yacht propulsion system has been in service since 2006.
